Imagine all your favorite female artists under one roof. Too good to be true? Not so, after tomorrow, which marks the opening of a Rock n’ Roll exhibit dedicated to the ladies who have shaped one half of world music. This is the world’s first exclusively female exhibition and will feature 2 floors of cool stuff from over 60 artist’s including Lady Gaga, Madonna, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Cher, Aretha Franklin and Pat Benatar. If we’re venturing all the way to Cleveland, Ohio, we’re hoping they raided some of the ladies’ lingerie drawers in addition to the education the exhibit promises about the history of women and rock and roll dating back all the way to the early 20th century.
On Saturday, May 14th, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will hold its annual It’s Only Rock and Roll Spring Benefit Concert where Wanda Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Mavis Staples and Darlene Love join forces to rock Ohio in one big musical celebration of women.
The exhibit will run from May 13, 2011 until February 26, 2012 at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
