On February 12th, designer Michelle Smith unveiled her collection at Pier 59 studios for 2016’s Fall/Winter season. This collection was created with femininity being revealed as the inspiration behind it. Milly collections tend to always exemplify femininity in a sexy and flirty way, and in this season, it was upped with the concept of revealing; from the bralette and bandeau tops to the high waisted panties and cold shoulder tops and dresses, there were plenty of exposed parts. Beautiful shapes and materials, especially in glamorous opera-like over coats paired with knits and flippy or pencil skirts harkened back to an era from Christian Dior past. Not at all a surprise, as Michelle had interned at the house of Dior Couture in her early years. Still, the designer did an amazing justice to the collection and still maintains true to her brand in the contemporary market.
