Last night at SOB’s, SWV showed no signs of wear after 15 years on ice. The trio – Cheryl “Coko” Clemons, Tamara “Taj” Johnson-George and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons – was celebrating the release of their first studio album of original music, I Missed Us, since 1997’s Release the Tension. Time has been kind to Sisters With Voices, who performed a mixed bag of past and present cuts to a grown ‘n sexy crowd. Clad in leopard print and black ensembles, the ladies harmonized to the sounds of “Weak,” “Right Here (Human Nature)” and a cover of Patti Labelle’s “If You Only Knew,” tossing a few new songs including “Co-Sign” and “All About You” into the mix. “It’s been about 20 years since our first album, y’all remember that?” asked Lelee at the end of the set. The crowd, which belted along with the trio, agreed.
