Jackson 5 and Prince Michael for J5 Collection limited edition “Thriller” and “Beat It” Jackets

The remaining members of the Jackson 5 along with Prince Michael have announced the launch of the J5 collection ‘Thriller’ and ‘Beat It’ jackets exclusively for Amazon.com.  YRB’s very own Creative Director Darius Baptist was granted an exclusive 1 on 1 with the Jackson 5 and Prince Michael, in which the group expressed excitement about this venture and look forward to giving their fans yet another piece of J5 memorabilia.

These collectible pieces are exact replications of the jackets worn by Michael in two of his most memorable videos. They were even created by the original creator of the jackets Marc Laurent.

“He wanted something very flashy, we discussed it on a Wednesday and by Friday we had it ready,” said Laurent on working with Michael on the original designs. “To get credit after 30 years is truly amazing.”

The “Thriller” jacket is made of soft black and red lambskin leather with silver buckles at the cuff, red silk lining, trapunto stitched collar, zip and snap front closure, and signature winged shoulders.

The “Beat It” jacket comes in red lambskin leather with signature silver chainmaille metal mesh, red acetate lining, zip front closure, and silver zipper embellishments on the chest, sleeves and waist. The sleeves have elastic line for instant scrounging and detach to create a vest.

Both styles feature an embroidered Michael Jackson signature alongside the authentic signatures of Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon.
