Got A Date? Here’s What To Wear

Being asked on a date is one of the nicest things. It’s a sign someone wants to get to know you, which when combined with a romantic setting and a great drink or meal, makes for the perfect evening.
But once you’ve said yes, then comes the panic around what you should wear! You’re dressing to impress in some way or another, but you don’t want to be too over the top or come across like you haven’t put any effort in. The mental gymnastics involved in picking your outfit is exhausting!
So let us give you a couple of things to think about that you can work on. If you’ve got a date and you don’t know what to wear, this is what to keep in mind.
Nothing That Makes You Uncomfortable!
If you’re feeling uncomfortable in your outfit, your first date is not going to go well at all. You’re going to feel far too self conscious to be able to relax, and that might come across as being jittery or uninterested. That’s definitely not the impression we’re going for here!
Clothing That Highlights the Features You Like
Wearing clothes you feel comfortable in is one thing, but you should also wear something that highlights the features of your body that you like and are proud of. You should have some things in your wardrobe that manage both these things and those are the ones to pull out right now.
A bodycon dress is usually good for this, if you’re someone who likes the way their body curves from the chest to the hips. Or if you’d much rather highlight your arms and shoulders, wear something that leaves these bare.
Just a Little Bit of Shine to Top Things Off!
This is a first date and you want to look your best, but you don’t want to come across as someone who dresses in an over the top way, right? It’s usually the best outfit strategy to go for; keep it simple and subtle so you don’t feel silly. We get it and we can help!
Finish up by adding just a touch of shine to your outfit once it’s on. A pair of silver earrings by Kendra Scott, combined with a simple drop necklace if you have a deep neckline on, will light up your upper bust and frame your face in the most flattering way.
It also won’t be OTT to add a couple of sleek rings to decorate your hands, especially if the colour of the rings matches the colour of your nails.
If you’ve got a date coming up, here’s how to get the right outfit on!
Above all else, make sure you’re creating an outfit from clothing you can be yourself in. If that means avoiding a skirt and maybe going for a jumpsuit instead, that’s perfectly fine. And depending on where you’re going and the vibe on offer, it’s perfectly OK to have a pair of jeans on!
