Foo Fighters Drummer Taylor Hawkins (pictured left) is among the latest group of actors announced for the upcoming film CBGB, which celebrates the history of the famed NYC music club of the same name. The scruffy, blond-haired Hawkins will portray Iggy Pop. It’s a perfect fit aesthetically, lets just hope Hawkins can nail Iggy’s signature eccentric mannerisms.
A few other actors include Micky Sumner as Patti Smith, Johnny Galecki as TV producer Terry Ork, and Steven Schub, Joel David Moore, and Julian Acosta, as Dee Dee, Joey, and Johnny Ramone, respectively. There’s no word yet on a release window for the film.
