The highly anticipated Accessible Art Fair New York presented by MvVO Art opened with a VIP First Access Night on Tuesday, November 1 and a VIP Premier Event on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the iconic National Arts Club in Gramercy Park.
The New York edition, which debuted after ten successful years in Brussels, breaks down the conventional barriers between artists, art collectors, art market professionals, and art lovers, by making the artists accessible, and providing a setting that inspires dialog. A jury of contemporary art experts selected more than 50 top emerging artists for the Fair, from New York and around the world. A portion of ticket sale proceeds is donated toFriends of Materials for the Arts (MFTA.org), New York’s premier creative reuse center.
Notable attendees during the two opening nights included: Maria van Vlodrop, Stephanie Manasseh, Alan Cumming, Isaac Aden, Miek Calcoen, Marc Calcoen, Nicholas A. Marino, David W. Schoner Jr., Genevieve Ohanian, Ara Ohanian, Erik Jens, Hayley Henning, Melissa Kassis, Christophe Allard, Catherine Larsen, Kristen Glover, Brenda Exline andValentine Uhovski.
Attendees enjoyed Stoli Elit Cocktails and Caviar while viewing the more than 150 artworks, which are all available for purchase over the course of the fair. Attendees were also given the opportunity to meet with the artists, whose artworks included sculptures, photography and paintings, spread out over two floors of the renowned National Arts Club. Throughout the month of November, art fair attendees will also have the chance to attend scheduled panels on a variety of art-world topics, such as: Technological revolutions in the art world (Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1:00pm) andArt in Action (Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 12:30pm).
