On December 9th, 2019, YRB attended the launch of Stellina and Stellin Art by Vaonis in New York City.
Stellina, is a hybrid of a smart telescope and camera, allows users to photograph the universe at the touch of a button. Vaonis is pushing further to uncover the beauty of our universe, linking the galaxy to the most remarkable expression of human emotional power: Art.
The event was a celebration of the collaboration of Vaonis and with 3 international artists, Kool Koor, Alvari, Mino1, to create a special edition of 30 custom STELLINAs, unique pieces where art and technology meet.
Electronic and Techno Music pioneer with Jeff Mills created a playlist specifically designed for the event.
“When I imagined Stellina, the goal was very clear: Allow anyone to observe our wonderful universe easily. Simplifying the experience was a first step in Stellina’s design but it was not enough. For many people, a telescope only inspires complex and inaccessible things. To change this, it was necessary to completely rethink the shape of this instrument.
“Today, the revolution is born, but this is only the beginning”–Cyril Dupus, Vaonis CEO
About Vaonis

The company was founded in 2016 by Cyril Dupuy, a young start-up entrepreneur, after obtaining his Bachelor in Optics and Aerospace. From his experience of using different telescopes with complex installation, long user guides and recurring breakdowns, he imagined and designed Stellina, the world’s first all-in-one telescope connected to a mobile app.
