November 4th, 2015 marked the opening of “Project Wild Rabbit: Gallery 24”, a pop-up gallery that showcases original artwork from some of Pratt Institute’s top artists over 24 hours at OPENHOUSE NYC in New York City.
For the 4th year in a row, Pratt and Hennessy Cognac have partnered to encourage innovation among emerging talent with the 2015 Wild Rabbit Design Challenge, which enlisted some of Pratt’s top students from multiple creative disciplines to create original artwork inspired by Hennessy’s mantra of “Never stop. Never settle”
Prior to the gallery opening, Pratt’s Christiana Theophanopoulos was selected by an esteemed judging panel (including Wild Rabbit icon & rapper Nas and artists’ Shepard Fairey, Ryan McGinness, & Futura) as winner of the 2015 Wild Rabbit Design Challenge for her original piece titled Meraki (the Greek word that translates to doing something with passion and soul). The work manifests Ms. Theophanopoulos’ Wild Rabbit, or the meraki she puts into cultivating truly unique work, in the form of handmade symbols representative of her own journey and passions.
As the 2015 winner, Ms. Theophanopoulos’ will be awarded seed money to jumpstart her career, in addition to immediate recognition and exposure through Hennessy’s global platforms.
All artwork will remain on display for consumers aged 21+ at the Project Wild Rabbit: Gallery 24 space at
Openhouse NYC (201 Mulberry St.) until 9pm November 5th.
