On March 16, 2017 , YRB attended the Miles Davis House, an event designed to support music discovery, the heart and soul of SXSW in Austin, Texas. The free day party was hosted by the Miles Davis family: Cheryl Davis (daughter of Miles), Erin Davis (son of Miles) and Vince Wilburn, Jr. (nephew of Miles).
The event, which was open to the public and did not require a SXSW badge, featured a wide cross section of multi-genre emerging talent, the next generation of musical disruptors. In the spirit of Miles, the celebration promoted music, art and cultural progressiveness, with live performances by Jacob Collier, R.LUM.R, Muddy Magnolias, Lawrence, Tall Heights, Jeffrey Gaines, Durand Jones and The Indications, and The Accidentals.
The new Kind Of Blue Scotch Whisky by Riviera Imports debuted with a specialty cocktail called “The Legend,” to outstanding success.
An activation supporting HOME, a non-profit 501c3 on a mission to renovate the childhood home of Miles Davis, also received generous support from attendees.
