On Thursday night artists, fashion designers, philanthropists, and tastemakers fought their way through the frigid temperatures all in the name of giving back.
Held at The Ambassadors River View at the United Nations, guests were on hand to celebrate the launch of VERA and the Save.Love.Give campaign. VERA, developed by Validas is a free mobile phone app that allows you to give back in the way of repurposing wireless waste for the purpose of helping others. The evening consisted of two fashion presentations where designers and artists were challenged to "reimagine" the form of iconic fashion garment the corset, and deliver it in a more empowering way.
The participants included Agent Provocateur, Erin Fetherston, Guy Laroche,Zang Toi,eyewear artist Moss Lipow, and artist Mickalene Thomas. Mary Alice Stephenson served as Master of Ceremonies, and the musical guests were Tara Subkoff, and YELLE.
With all the mingling and socializing taking place in the room, it was quite heart warming to see people come together for such an amazing cause.
