Event Recap: Kendrick Lamar performs for American Express’s “Art Meets Music” Campaign with Shantell Martin at the Faena Dome #Miami #ArtBasel @kendricklamar @shantell_martin #AmexAccess

On December 1st. 2016 ,  Amex Card Members and VIP guests came together on behalf of American Express to celebrate and evening of music and art with a riveting one-of-a-kind performance by Grammy award-winning lyricist Kendrick Lamar, international visual artist Shantell Martin and DJ group No Vacancy Inn at the Faena Dome in Miami Beach.

Lamar took to the stage delivering many of his chart-topping hits, which included, “Money Trees,” “Alright,” “The Blacker the Berry,” and “ADHD”.

Fans were amazed by an exclusive collaboration of music and art  featuring large LED visuals of Martin’s past work as it was projected on massive screens flanking the Faena Dome – a spectacle in every sense of the word for those not able to score a ticket inside to experience.

 

Notable guests that flooded the dome for the performance included DJ Mode, Russell Simmons, Jourdan Dunn, Bryan Boy, Audrina Patridge, along with party curator Legendary  Damon and Nola Weinstein.

VIPs were treated to a private area overlooking both the beach, as they sipped cocktails and enjoyed light refreshments before the concert. All who attended were gifted a specially crafted pin that included art from the evening’s performance.

Once the show concluded, selected guests and VIPs hit the Faena Penthouse for an exclusive after party hosted by American Express Platinum Collective, which featured music by Heron Preston.
