On Thursday, April 2, 2015, East Side House Settlement hosted the 16th Annual Gala Preview of the 2015 New York International Auto Show at the Jacob K. Javits Center.
More than 1,000 guests from the worlds of finance, fashion, society, and philanthropy enjoyed a private viewing of the entire auto show before it officially opened to the public.
The Gala Preview included cocktails, a private dinner for benefactors and a specially curated display of several 2016 Porsche models generously provided by Manhattan Motorcars, including a 919 Hybrid, a 918 Spyder, a Cayenne S E-Hybrid, and a Panamera S E-Hybrid.
The Gala Preview was chaired by Philip L. Yang, Joan P. Young, and Chris LaSusa, and the Benefit Committee was chaired by Fe Fendi, Morgan Shara and Mariana Zois.
Adding to the night’s festivities were signature cocktails featuring Wodka Vodka and Alibi Whiskey and music provided by DJ David Chang.
The highlight of the evening was a thrilling live auction of an all-new 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4, as well as several exclusive packages and experiences including the opportunity for four guests to dine at a coveted table at Rao’s; a VIP experience to entertain 16 guests in a private Mets Skybox at Citi Field; an exclusive golf outing at Jasna Polana; and a fabulous Vermont Getaway package from Twin Farms Resort and Simon Pearce. Rebels raced high as the 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 proved to be the biggest ticket item of the night.
The event raised $500,000 to support East Side House Settlement, a leading social services agency that serves children and families in the South Bronx and surrounding communities.
The event was made possible through the generosity of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) and the New York International Auto Show, as part of a proud tradition of dedicated community service.
