Last night 55DSL held their final round for the “55DSL Has Talent Too” competition hosted by Jesse Boykins III. YRB’s very own Creative Director Darius Baptist was one of the judges on the panel along with producer at BET Stasia Tomlinson, A&R Exec. at Epic Records Todd Gorham, Heather Widen from Herfection.com and Rae and Gabe from Stuffflypeoplelike.com. 55DSL are the perfect collaborative partners for YRB having provided Diesel hooded jackets to be customized by various artists for YRB’s 2011 Fall Fashion Issue. The 11 finalist picked to perform were Bobby Generic, Cheeki Pow Pow, Nick Paradise, Cocoa Sarai, Star Mike, Brie, Saint Germain, Mildred Stroop, Shamar Forte, Children Of The Night and the last minute entry Mouthmatics. It was a tough call for the judges but contestant Cocoa Sarai took home the winning prizes which were a gift certificate to 55Dsl, write ups in YRB Magazine, Stuffflypeoplelike.com and herfection.com, a spot on BET’s show 106 and Park’s Wild Out and a meeting with one of Epic Records A&R Executives.
