Event Recap: 2nd Annual “True Beauty” Brunch

Over 100 experts in the fashion and beauty world gathered earlier this week to answer the question: “What is Black Beauty?” Some of the insiders involved included celebrity stylist Tippi Shorter, TV personality Bevy Smith, and Julee Wilson of the Huffington Post. The focus of the panel was to discuss the diversity of African-Americans in the entertainment world, and how their presence in the media has evolved over the years.

“We are the only race that has so many different types, shapes, looks, and colors.  That’s what makes us so beautiful and admired,” said Lavette Slater, hair stylist for The View.
