Bob Haro has joined forces with VH1’s Save The Music program to create an original piece of art that will be on display at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA LA. Haro who is known for his riding style and distinctive eye for art and design has created a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork using a Pioneer CDJ-2000 mixer. The artists participating in the project were all given a mixer as a “blank canvas” which they could design to heir liking. Haro’s piece features inlaid Balsa wood engraved with images of BMX riders, cartoon style captions and a silhouette of Haro with a BMX bike at the center of the mixers turn table. The piece will go on display Thursday July 21 and the event is open and free to the public. Those who are interested in purchasing the piece can start their bidding in August.
